General Job Brief
The Campus Safety Unarmed Guard (CSUG) position maintains high visibility on campus promoting lawful behavior and protecting the welfare of students, faculty, and staff as a uniformed presence on campus. CSUG perform routine safety patrols, responds to calls for service, and critical incidents on campus. CSUG provide escort services to students, staff, and guests. CSUG investigate incidents that occur on campus, complete incident reports, and daily logs of the duties performed during their shift. Additional responsibilities include but not limited to security and guest services at athletic and special events, traffic control, parking enforcement, etc.

Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of duties, campus crime prevention, parking enforcement, crowd and traffic control, administrative duties, etc.
- Provides escort services for students, staff, faculty, adjunct, and guests as necessary
- Provides other assistance duties, lockout services, jump-starts, directions, etc.
- Provide a uniform presence while patrolling the University's grounds during day-to-day operations, athletic events, special events, etc.
- Respond to and investigate all calls for service and take the appropriate action
- Use University keys to open and close buildings
- Monitor security cameras
- Enforce University policies and report criminal acts to local law enforcement
- Report unsafe conditions, hazards, and safety issues via chain of command
- Assist law enforcement and emergency service as needed
- Conduct crime prevention inspections around campus while unlocking and locking doors

- Effectively communicate in a professional manner to individuals who are agitated, or refusing to leave the University
- Remain calm under periods of intense stress, react calmly and effectively during critical incidents
- Maintain confidentiality
- Work independently of direct supervision, and follow policies and procedures
- Multitask and demonstrate good time management skills
Minimum Qualifications
- United States citizen
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Arizona Driver's License demonstrating a mature driver's history
- Complete and pass a background investigation
- Employment history, proof of education, record of military discharge, personal references, schools attended, etc.
- Criminal history
- Driver history
- 1-year prior campus safety, security, or facilities related occupation experience.
