General Job Brief:
The position will assist the Director of Sports Medicine in all aspects of the athletic training department, including but not limited to: athletic injury management and prevention, practice/game coverage, rehabilitation, appropriate administrative tasks, and other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively with the public, staff, faculty, and students with proper English usage.
- Good organizational and planning skills.
- First Aid and CPR, as well as skills in the following areas: injury assessment, care, treatment, rehabilitation, manual therapy techniques.
- Administrative skills in record keeping, charting, computer skills with basic programs as well as athletic training software.
- Good people skills in a diverse environment.
- Works well under pressure, exuding a mature demeanor while multi-tasking in a deadline-oriented environment with accuracy and consistency.
Duties, Tasks, Responsibilities
- Athletic care and coverage for specific teams as designated, working with coaches on practice times and availability
- Manage athletic training students as needed
- Working with the Director of Sports Medicine to ensure the athletic department staff and coaches are informed on all appropriate Athletic Training policies, procedures, updates, and necessary information
- Maintain positive working relationships with other staff and faculty on campus, as well as all appropriate medical personnel, including team physicians
- Maintaining Athletic Training Room policies and procedures
- Maintain proper record keeping for medical records and accurate injury/illness reports of all injuries.
- Provides spiritual guidance, prayer, and support for the student-athletes
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Education and Experience:
Master's Degree in Athletic Training or related field preferred
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Athletic Training
BOC Certification for Athletic Training
Arizona Athletic Training License (to be obtained prior to hire date)
Two years experience in college athletic training environment
Follower of Jesus Christ and demonstrated commitment to living a Christian life
Agreement to the ACU Core Commitments, Statement of Faith, and other staff policy
Working Conditions:
Athletic training room environment
On and off-campus athletic facilities (will require transporting necessary equipment and materials)
Phoenix, Arizona climate with multiple outdoor teams
Limited travel as designated by Director of Sports Medicine
Time Required:
Standard college athletics calendar for in-season and out-of-season fall, winter, and spring sports.
